Run
Comments: I wore a tech t-shirt as opposed to my usual sleeveless. I should not have done so, but the shirt has our running store logo on it. :) I felt great on the run, like I said, and only had a little soreness in my back towards mile 6. My biggest mistake was grabbing a cup of Gatorade at mile 4! Oy! There is a reason for the term: nothing new on race day! I knew I didn't need it, but habit took over and I took it. It didn't upset my stomach, but it did slosh for about 1/2 a mile. What would you do differently?: Not take fluids if I don't need them! Nothing new on race day! Post race
Warm down: Came through the shoot and had to stop to get the chip off. Walked around, got the medal and a banana. Hung out with my friends and my wife (who finished her 5k in 35:xx). Stretched when we got back to the car. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not enough miles in training yet! Event comments: this is a very hilly race, but it's very fun! I had a blast and I'm so glad my leg held up. I think I will be able to increase my running mileage now, which makes me happy! Last updated: 2007-06-02 12:00 AM

Got up at 4:15 to get a shower and some coffee. Around 5:00 I ate a banana and drank some Poweraid. Got my wife up at 5:30. We left the house at 6:00. We got to the race and found a spot to park. I took my PowerBar Gel and sipped some more Poweraid. We met up with my boss at the shoe store, Bill, as we wandered towards the start lines. At 6:45, the 5k group (my wife and Bill ran the 5k - I ran the 10k) went to their starting line, while the 10k and Half Marathoners stayed where they were.
1/4 mile jog just to loosen the legs. Stretched really good.
