Comments:

I started too far back - need to get up to the start line and get in the mix, might cut down on swimming through traffic. My breathing started out good, but by the time I rounded the first buoy I felt like I needed to breath every stroke. The wetsuit was awesome. Never worn one before and the buoyancy was incredible!!!! Stayed warm and felt that it really helped.
What would you do differently?:

Start closer to the front and work on my breathing, stroke efficiency.
Transition 1
  • 00m 51s
Comments:

Good transition. The stripping was fantastic...the wetsuit came right off. I had it peeled down to my butt and she gave one good pull and off it came. I used body glide...hope that helped.
What would you do differently?:

Move quicker.

Comments:

One of my bottle brackets lost a screw and the bracket swung down and dumped my bottle. Had to stop and go back and pick it up. Had to carry the water bottle on my aero bars the rest of the way (2.5 miles). I think I could have pushed a little harder, took me a couple miles to catch my breath following the swim. Need to drink more on the bike.

Post race
Warm down:

Great post race recovery. Plenty of food, cookies, and drink.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

More experience in the open wate swim and continued work on bike/run.

Event comments:

Outstanding race. Plenty of volunteers and police support at intersections. Great food following the race. Results posted quickly and unique awards. Awards were announced very quickly following the end of the race. The Race Directors did an oustanding job.
