Swim
Comments: 400 Meters my @#$. Even the experienced swimmers said it was well over 400 meters. Dont know why but I was really sucking on this swim. I think I got nervous seeing all the reef right beneath me. At one point I cut my hand on it, didnt realize it till I saw blood on my towel at T1. I think everybody passed me here. I have a good picture of me getting out of the water and running up the beach, Naners was infront of me. I HAD a 5 minute head start :( There were some good swells that just filled my water with water when I tried to breath. The time includes the run along the beach. What would you do differently?: Get more open ocean swims in. I need to feel more comfortable in open water. Transition 1
Comments: Still taking too much time and worring about my feet in T1. What would you do differently?: Quick foot rinse get shoes on, get out the door. Bike
Comments: I'm happy with my bike portion. Keep in mind I dont have a fancy tri- bike or road bike. I make do with what I have. On the way back I got to use some momentum coming down a hill and a corner. The riders in front of me slowed down alot, so coming out of corner and going up the hill, I just hammered up the hill and passed about 5 riders. Told myself they cant repass me. This stage hurt!! My injured thigh was really giving me problems. I was really worried about it just locking up on me. What would you do differently?: Get a fancy tri-bike, then learn the aero position!! Transition 2
Comments: I had a lady standing right infront of my transition stall. I had to yell "excuse me" 3 times for her to move. Dont know what she was doing there in the first place... What would you do differently?: Put a "Do not stand here" sign infront of my stall. Everything else was pretty fast and efficient. Racked the bike, grapped my race belt, and ran for the exit.... Run
Comments: Run went good I passed quite a few people on the run. Got passed myself by 2 people. It went good, but I could of pushed it a little harder. Was afraid of cramping up in the last .5 mile like I did in the Honolulu Tri. Kept looking for people I knew to give me inspiration... What would you do differently?: Pushed it harder the last mile. Post race
Warm down: Kept moving for awhile. Got some juice, a banana, and a piece of bread. Stretched a little. Linked up with Naners and Congratulated her on her kick-ass placing!!! What limited your ability to perform faster: Body was beat down real bad from being in the field the whole week before the race. Had only 1 day to get rest, and decent nutrition. To tell the truth, it was so bad the entire ride to the event I wanted to turn around and go back to bed (I came sooo close you dont even know!!) Event comments: There was no "Elite Class" in this Triathlon, and some of the "big" names showed up to play.... Every race is a learning experience, and chance to see my training pay off. Learn from myself and others, then apply.......... Last updated: 2007-06-03 12:00 AM

Got up early eat a chocalate chip Cliff bar, and washed it down with a bottle of Gatorade. Got there real early, I think I was the second one there. Set up transition area. Tried to relax and mingle, keep my mind off the race.
Just stretched a little.
