Comments: Started the race 5 minutes late to had to catch up with the rest of the pack. Had to sprint to the start of the race which was behind a boat. What would you do differently?: Make sure I pay attention. If I get a good night of sleep maybe I can make the start! I was one of the first people at the race and I couldn't even make it on time to the start... Pay attention! Transition 1
Comments: Had trouble clipping my shoes. What would you do differently?: Practice running with my bike and clipping Bike
Comments: Had problems with the bike's chain. What would you do differently?: Go to my fav store (Forward Motion) and get my bike checked before the race. Had to do all the hills in a high gear. Transition 2
Comments: Took my time to put socks on right. Then a volunteer directed me in the wrong direction for the run. Lost 30-45 seconds... What would you do differently?: Make sure to know the course better before the start of the race. It's crucial! Don't expect that volunteers will know where you should go. It's my job! Run
Comments: Was pacing myself in the beginning. Not cramps like previous two tris I did. I was running with a cytomax bottle in my hand and it was slowing me down. As soon as I got rid of it I started running faster. Sprinted the last quarter mile with another triathlete. People were cheering. Fun times! What would you do differently?: Don't run with a bottle in your hand. Maybe you'll run faster! Post race
Warm down: Massage, strecthes. What limited your ability to perform faster: Slept 3 hrs, started late, bike problems, ran in the wrong direction, ran with a water bottle. Event comments: Except for that one volunteer that directed me in the wrong direction it was a well organized race and a very fun race to do. Will do it again for years to come. So much fun I can hardly describe it. I was riding amongst accomplished triathletes and the adrenaline rush that I got when I saw Michelie Jones cool down and cheer for me with her coach was amazing. It made me run faster. I was in the VIP section and the pros were right next to me. It was so cool to see what they do before the race. I'm definitely addicted to tris now. My goal is to finish top 100 in 3 years. Top 200 by next year with more training. People were very friendly. Had this guy let me use his pump for my tires. Another guy that was next to me in transition was very cool. Also talked to this 16 year old girl from Tijuana who was with her brother I believe. She finished 10 minutes in front of me. Wow! This race made me want to train harder for next year. 326 out of 1000 is not bad considering this is my 3rd tri (my 2nd oly distance) and I only had 3 hrs of sleep. Oh and I missed the start too! :) Last updated: 2007-06-08 12:00 AM

Went to bed at 1.30pm because of a wedding in Pasadena the night before. Woke up at 420am. Drove to the VIP registration and talked to a guy in transition that told me the pros were next to us. Saw Michellie Jones get ready and some Brazilian dude.
Drank Cytomax and ate a protein bar before the race.
Didn't really warm-up. Had 3 hours of sleep the night before...
