Swim
Comments: The first 200m were hard since I could not get my stroke and breathing down. Once I rounded the first bouy I was set. My stroke stretched out and I tracked very well in the water. Aside from one big gulp of lake water the swim was very nice. What would you do differently?: Slow down and get in my groove fast at the first part of the swim. Transition 1
Comments: The 1/4 mile run up the hill to T1 was much easier this year since the swim did not totally tap my energy. The transition was about an smooth as I expected. I did choose to wear socks and they slipped on just fine. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Bike
Comments: Top speed today was 39.9mph down the big hill. Overall the bike was good and I felt good with my legs. Considering that I have been training the run I biked fairly well. What would you do differently?: Train more on the bike. Transition 2
Comments: I totally busted in the dimount area. My foot went under the bike and down I went. My tri suit does not have a scratch, but I have a bruise on my side hip. Luckely I was at a total stop when it happened. What would you do differently?: Hopefully I don't the next time I get off the bike. Slow down. Run
Comments: The run was survival, but felt good. The water in the bottle I took lasted me the first mile. The rest of the run was done with no water. The water at the drinking stations was soooooooo cold that I could not get in down. It came up twice on me. I am going to make sure and let the director of the YMCA know that it was very difficult to drink. What would you do differently?: the next time I am going to make sure and wear my Fuel Belt. Post race
Warm down: I ate a banana and had two bottles of water. I was sooo thirsty. Other than that I felt great. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing really. I felt good all day and had fun. Having fun was my overall goal. Event comments: This race is still the best in our region. I would put this up against any as far as the facilities. I can see that next year they need to make sure and have a larger transition area. With 160 participants the bike area was way to compact. The YMCA did an outstanding job. Thanks again for a wonderful race. Last updated: 2007-06-09 12:00 AM

Woke at 5:30 and had a banana, ClifBar and bottle or water. The car was already packed so I left the house around 6:10 and stopped by Wal-Mart for some SlimFast.
I wore my brand new Team Javelin tri suit. Loved It!!!!!! I have to say that it was the best looking one.
No warmup. I just got my transition area set up. 30 minutes before the start I had a slimfast for extra calories and a bottle of water.
