Comments:

Great weather for the race. It's amazing how different this race felt compared to others. I was in Time group 1A, so it wasn't as crowded as other years when I've had to start in the middle or back of the race. It still took a little while to spread out where I could run at my pace. I started off the first mile with an 8:30 min time. After that, I got into a comfortable pace and averaged less than 7:30 min/mile. My goal was to beat 48 minutes which I did at the P'tree twice before. I accomplished that! I couldn't believe how much easier this race was to me. I am definitely in better shape than other years I've run it. Now that I've run much farther races such as the marathon, this race seemed so short to me. Also, those hills on P'tree that I used to think were huge, are nothing now. After the steep hills in Portland, these hills were just gradual slopes that I had no trouble running up. Definitely made this race more fun. :) I always have a great time at this race. People watching along the way is so entertaining. The live bands and radio stations every half mile were rockin' this year where I didn't even need my ipod. I also caught 2 t-shirts that were thrown to the crowd at miles 1 & 3, which was cool. Although, I had to run the rest of the way holding them in my hands. I'm such a sucker for free stuff. :)
Post race
Warm down:

After I crossed the finish line, I stopped where Fox 5 news was filming. They ended up interviewing me and putting me on live TV. Very cool! :)
After that, I walked through the park, got my t-shirt and headed over to Park Tavern to meet some friends. Stayed there for an hour or so and then walked 1.5 miles back to my car. That was a good warm down.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I was still sore from Nationals. And also standing for 9 hours at the Expo the day before didn't help. My legs and feet were sore from too much standing.

Event comments:

A great race with a great ending. I got interviewed on Fox 5 news after the race and talked about Snickers Marathon Team. Media bonuses for me! YAY! :)
