Event warmup:

Walked aroung to rack bike, get race stuff, and find swim start.
Swim
  • 13m 46s
  • 880 yards
  • 01m 34s / 100 yards
Comments:

This was probably not a true 1/2 mile swim. I felt the best at this part of the race. My Hubby had my shoes out so I could put them on after the swim which saved my feet!!! We had to run up a gravel like ramp that continued to the transition area!! So I was able to run up to the transition area.
What would you do differently?:

Warm-up!
Transition 1
  • 03m 27s
Comments:

Could improve. Need to practice.
Bike
  • 1h 00m 27s
  • 15 miles
  • 14.89 mile/hr
Comments:

I was not ready for the hills. I made it through but it was rough. The first couple of miles felt like it took forever and for awhile I thought my bike odometer was wrong because it took me so long. I really took advantage of the down hill to help me get up some of the up hill. My max speed (downhill) 39.9 mph! I'm glad I didn't hit any potholes!
What would you do differently?:

Work on shorter hill rides or I was told that I could sprint up a hill and then go down and do that a couple of times. The only "hill" where I live is the overpass so I might have to go to the next town over on weekends.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

I don't know this time because I had problems with my watch.
Run
  • 47m 57s
  • 4 miles
  • 11m 59s  min/mile
Comments:

I flet good. A little cramping in the left leg. Had to stretch. I ran the last mile!! I was happy with the time especially because the course was hilly and I only have ran around town and it is FLAT! My running workouts did help.
What would you do differently?:

Need to incorporate more running into my training.
Post race
Warm down:

Walking around.

Event comments:

I hope to do this race next year so I can see how much I can improve on my running and biking. This is definately the hardest tri I have done so far. Next year I will do it under 2min!!

Course: In water start. Group #3. Felt good swimming. Since I didn't have a warm-up I tried to stretch my stroke and increase my speed. I didn't know where I was going and I figure I could just follow everyone ahead of me. The turns were awful because everyone would just stop and kick around them.
