Swim
Comments: Good thing I know how to swim or my times would really be pathetic! I wanted to post a time somewhere in the 26 min area, missed by 11 seconds. Transition 1
Comments: A little difficulty getting the shoes on... Bike
Comments: 3 minutes slower than last year, couldn't generate decent power on the elevation gains. Kept the chain ring in the small ring most of the ride, that may have cost me some speed but just didn't feel up to pushing the big gears. What would you do differently?: The legs are tired from the recent bike training & 6 Gap is on the horizon! Transition 2
Comments: Good T2... Run
Comments: If I could just get my run together & drop just 1 min/mile from my lousy, normal 10+ min/mile avg, we're looking at a 10 minute overall swing (lower) in this race. Same old story that I've been harping on for awhile but still haven't solved. What would you do differently?: I'm running my first marathon in Jan or Feb just to focus on running over the fall/winter...we'll see if it helps. Post race
Warm down: Hit the sprinklers they set up to cool down. Saw Jeff Giles (Q), he sounded a little disappointed in his race. It's a tough race, the course is challenging and as I said earlier, it's always extremely hot. Ate a little bbq with Teresa (tbatt) and saw Kendall (kendallF) doing some great volunteering! What limited your ability to perform faster: Insert line from broken record here: LEARN HOW TO RUN! Event comments: I didn't train real hard for this race like last year and was only a minute slower. This is a tough race, the course is challenging and it's difficult keeping the core temp & heart rate under control. This race ends my 07 triathlon season unless I just register for some unplanned race in Sept or Oct. I will however, be a volunteer at this year's IMFL, looking forward to that!
