Pre-race routine:

Worked all day. Didn't really get a chance to hydrate much, out of the office most of the day. Had a 12" sub from Subway at lunch time, that was about it for eating throughout the day.
Event warmup:

200 yards of swimming. Water was niceeeeeeeee.
Swim
  • 07m 12s
  • 400 yards
  • 01m 48s / 100 yards
Comments:

Pretty rough at the satrt and got crowded around the turn bouy. Got swam over a bit at the beginning
What would you do differently?:

Be more agressive. Came out of the water feeling fresh, probably could have swam a bit harder.
Transition 1
  • 01m 1s
Comments:

Wesuit got hung up a bit on my hands, never had that happen before. Pushed it down to my knees then stepped out of it. No socks for the bike. Didn't try ti clip in right away, got up to speed then clipped in
What would you do differently?:

try to be a bit more speedy in getting the wetsuit off.
Bike
  • 32m 31s
  • 12 miles
  • 22.14 mile/hr
Comments:

Wanted to push hard on the bike, especially the first lap. Overall time was right where I usually am, was about 25 sec. off pr for the course.
What would you do differently?:

Still need to push harder, just have to suck up the pain and put it out there.
Transition 2
  • 00m 50s
Comments:

Time is based off my watch, there was no T2 time calculated
What would you do differently?:

Need to learn how to run without socks.
Run
  • 22m 33s
  • 3.2 miles
  • 07m 03s  min/mile
Comments:

Fastest overall T2+run split (by over a minute) i've ever done in the 7 races over this course. Legs felt great coming off the bike. Best they have ever felt. Makes me wonder if I could have pushed harder on teh bike. Came through the end of the bike and T2 with a friend, and went out of T2 with him. We ran together for about the first 1.5 miles, then he gapped me by about 15 yards. Last half of the run, tried to race him down, but could never quite catch up. Every time I sped up, he sped up. I think if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have run as hard. Ended up finishing up 4 seconds behind him.
What would you do differently?:

Not much, this run was about as fast as it gets. Gives me faith that all teh speed work that I've been doing is really starting to pay off. Felt great the entire run.
Post race
Warm down:

not much..packed my stuff up, waited for a few friends to finish.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not having enough faith to hammer the bike harder. I'm always worried about how I'm going to feel on the run. One time I just need to forget about the run and ride as fast and as hard as I can

Event comments:

Great race series, and you can't beat the $15 price
