Pre-race routine:

packed everything the night before, just had to put the bike into the car... found the place without any trouble...

this time is including t1... i had thought people were faster so i started swimming in the back... but i had to realize that they were REALLY slow and started passing a lot of them... i was well in the first third but then i got kicked in the ribs and couldn't breathe anymore... i started panicking and decided to breaststroke back to shore :(
What would you do differently?:

start in the front - now i know that i'd be able to keep up with the pace

transition times unfortunately are included in the swim and bike times... i was pretty slow... made the mistake of taking off the cap and goggles first and then i was struggling with the wetsuit while i was running towards the bike... tooke me quite a while to get out of the wetsuit and get my bike shoes and helmet on... i double checked if i had everything so it took quite a while...
What would you do differently?:

hurry up a little... maybe i should practice stuff like getting out of the wetsuit and i should work out a system to place things so i know i didn't forget anything...

i kicked ass hehe did an average of 33kph - screwed up my time with t2 though...
What would you do differently?:

go even faster.. i was a little concerd about the run afterwards so i went slower than i could have... still did pretty good though...

again - took me forever!! had to take everything off, put on my hat, socks (!!!) which alone took me ages, shoes...
What would you do differently?:

i have to learn to run without socks... that'll save me at least 5 mins

run faster!! now i know i can do it!! you're always smarter after it's over :)

Warm down:

they welcomed us with (of course) alcohol free beer after the finish line... so i drank my beer and had some fruit after walking it off a little...

What limited your ability to perform faster:

this being my first triathlon ever and not knowing how i could handle it...

it was a great race... very well organized, great volunteers... i'll be there again next year again!!
