Swim
Comments: THis was a bad swim for me. Very crowded, i hated the running start, and i could not find my rhythm or breath until the last 200. THe water was hot and murky. What would you do differently?: Try to make some space early on in the swim and be the kicker and scratcher, not the kickee and scratchee. Transition 1
Comments: THis was not a good transition time, although it was half of what my first race T1 time was. I need to do a better job of being faster. I know what to do, just need to be faster at it. I am such a checklist type person that i get hung up on doing the checklist before i can leave T area instead of just going. What would you do differently?: Be faster! Bike
Comments: THis was a good bike time. I was happy with my pace. There are a lot of fast women out there so i felt good that i was able to pass a few of them. Plus having a bike that fits is crucial. What would you do differently?: I would be more aggressive on the flats. I found myself trying to recover on the flats and should have been pushing it and recover in the down hill. But still had a decent time. Transition 2
Comments: This was not a good transition either. I need to be faster! What would you do differently?: Get lcok laces to make shoe change easier. Run
Comments: This run was tough for me. My legs were burning during the last mile. I found myself having to walk a bit. I was fine physically, except the lactic acid in my legs. What would you do differently?: Do more brick workouts on hills. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of experience. Event comments: THis was a well organzied race. THere were lots of voluteers, spectators, etc. I liked the food at the end. I do not like the start and finish in different places though, it makes it difficult to watch. Overall, this was a good race. Last updated: 2007-06-18 12:00 AM

The week leading up to this race was tough. I had 3 nights where i worked from 8pm-6am out of town, 2 of those days i was up for 24 hours straight. PLus, had family in town when i got home.
Started drinking at least 100 oz of water daily beginning on wednesday to help fight fatigue and to hydrate.
I lost 3 lbs this week, not sure if was from all the water and lack of sleep or from the race.
Made sure to have somee carbs the night before. Needed my Aunt Annies pretzel sticks though.
Ran for 10 minutes up the hill.
