Run
Comments: Had my fellow age grouper in sight but I could not keep up with him. Results show my fellow age grouper beat me in the first 5K by one minute 15 seconds. I finished this 5K 25 seconds faster that my first 5K at Maumee Bay on June 16. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 1
What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: I believe bike course was 19.5K. If that converts to 12 miles, so be it. Some time I'll check if that is correct. My fellow age grouper beat me by one minute and 50 seconds on the bike ride What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 2
Comments: As I was just about to leave the transition area, a nonparticipant yelled to me, "you have your helmet on". Yikes, so I ran back to my rack and deposited my helmet. Not clearly thinking, I just should have tossed in anywhere in the transition area. Oh, well. Lesson learned. What would you do differently?: Take off the helmet....... Run
Comments: The final 5K of my races has been requiring, what seems like a great amount of effort to run and a sense of running very slowly. Again, by the final 5K, I was pretty well heated up. However, I am very surprised to see my split times for this run. I was doing much better than I had thought at the time of the run. Of course, I was not mentally sharp enough at the time to look down at my HRM and figure this stuff out. My fellow age grouper beat me by one minute and thirty one seconds on the final 5K This 5K was 21 seconds faster that my second 5K at Maumee Bay on June 16. This is a good thing. Progress.... Post race
Event comments: Gave it max effort today. Improvements on both 5K runs over my last event at Maumee Start Park was a welcome surprise! Last updated: 2007-06-19 12:00 AM
