Swim
Comments: This was a good swim for me. I did get some water in my goggles and had to adjust them. I cut off several minutes from the last time I did this distance. What would you do differently?: Practice more OWS. Transition 1
Comments: I was pretty happy with this transition except my wetsuit got stuck on my heels. It was a pretty far transition area from the water as well as the bike out. Bike
Comments: This was my first race with my new bike and I loved it. I pushed myself but never went too hard. There were two parts of the course that were slow uphills but I kept in mind there's always the downhill. I did drop a water bottle and the yellow sponge thing popped out of my aerobottle. Transition 2
Comments: The run out of transition was sort of far and running in bike shoes isn't that easy. One goal of mine is to learn to keep the shoes clipped in and run barefoot. That will take some practice! What would you do differently?: Not much- Run
Comments: My goal was to walk the aid stations and run the rest. I was able to that. My feet started to go numb. I'm not sure I like the new laces I have. The course was good and the aid stations came just as I needed them. I loved the music and the cold water sponges. Post race
Warm down: Drank some water and went to cheer Aaron on. Got something to eat. Event comments: I was extremely happy with my performance. My goal was to finish in 3 hours and I beat that goal. The was a great race especially it being it's first year. I will definitely do this one again. The course was good, it started on time and it was well supported. Last updated: 2007-06-19 12:00 AM

I always get really nervous before races and so it's hard to eat anything. I was able to a eat half of a bagel and some water with a nuun tablet. I set up my transition and headed over to the start. You've got to love a race that starts on time.
No warm up unless you count putting a wetsuit on.
