I started on the wrong side of the wave and missed the draft. Other than that, not a bad swim.
What would you do differently?:

Make sure I find the fast swimmers pre-race and swim behind them from the start.

Comments:

First time I had my new mountain bike on anything technical and it showed. I was a little hesitant at first and when I finally did start pushing hard, I ended up crashing twice. Over the handle bars both times! The second one was especially bad. I probably lost a few minutes, but I was happy to get to T2 in pretty good standing and in one piece.

Comments:

I had a good run. Got the legs turning over right away and my pace wasn't too bad since it was on a trail. I had a little bit of stomach cramping, but I don't think it affected me too much. Stomach cramps seem to be pretty standard for me, anyway.

Great race. Post-race lunch was awesome and they had a bunch of nice door prizes after. Quite a few racers stayed for the awards and I met some really cool people.
