Swim
Comments: Easier than I thought it would be. What would you do differently?: I didn't pick it up until after rounding the buoy. I think I should have started quicker. I fell behind not knowing what to expect in my first tri. Transition 1
Comments: This took longer than expected. I was a little winded and getting get my thought patterns together. What would you do differently?: Unlike Allen Iverson, practice, practrice, practice. I never practiced transitions and now I know why the pros do. I also know what to look for when I'm buying shoes and other equipment now. It seemed like it took forever to get my book shoes on and clipping it took just as long. So to sum it up, I will practice transistions. Bike
Comments: This course was harder than training and I did brick workouts on this course! Learned my bike computer was not calculating correctly and was off by at least one mile. What would you do differently?: Use my own bike. Someone loaned me a bike for corporate challenge and this triathlon because all I had was a mountain bike. But I purchased a bike this past week and will be training and using it from now on. Next time I will also let the bike shop install the bike computer. I think the tri rookie probably messed that up. I need to actually do long rides for endurance. Transition 2
Comments: This wasn't too bad for my first time. What would you do differently?: Again I will practice transisitions, I will practice transitions. Run
Comments: I still had legs for the run. This was encouraging but the course was hilly. What would you do differently?: I'd push it more on the run. I think I had more in the tank and let my mind not trust my training. I'd also run the course more often during training. Post race
Warm down: Water, powerade, bannana, smoothie, pancakes. I should have stretched but it never entered my mind until I was typing this. What limited your ability to perform faster: I think it was mental. Not knowing what to expect but I think I got have exerted myself more. Event comments: I would recommend this course to anyone. I was a first timer but I was never made to feel like one except in my own mind. Last updated: 2007-06-22 12:00 AM

Setup transition area. Went to bathroom like 4 times. Watched the first two swim heats of the long course. Stayed hydrated and ate a pack of energy beans.
Only warmup consisted of the swim from the boat dock to swim beach.
