Swim
Comments: Another strong swim. I was slower over the 1500 than I was the sprint distance. I slowed down when I took in water at about 900m. I picked it back up over the last 400m though and started picking off the red and white caps in the two waves ahead of me. I probably could have swam a little faster but I settled into a nice routine of swimming and was moving along at a pretty good clip. What would you do differently?: Maybe put forth a little more effort. Transition 1
Comments: Everything was great running up to the rack. I was positioned next to a very noticeable flag and there was an empty spot next to my rack. I had some trouble with my socks which made it a little longer than I would've liked. My helmet and glasses went on nicely. I jumped on my bike and got up to speed pretty well. The socks and shoes really hurt the time. What would you do differently?: I need to start setting my towel on top of my shoes. I don't sit on it and it serves no functional purpose sitting under my shoes. I need to use it to wipe off my feet. That is what caused my socks to stick. Bike
Comments: The bike was fast for everyone it appears. I did it faster than I did the sprint last month. Thinking back I probably could've gone faster had I really taken into account the push the tailwind was giving me. There was a point where I was pedaling and I realized I wasn't near the effort I should have been giving. I was comfortable, not pushing it, which I should have been. I don't know how long I was at that pace but I kicked it up a notch and went from 18-21 pretty quickly. What would you do differently?: Just go faster, I left a little on the bike course. Transition 2
Comments: Pretty good. Not blazing. I love yankz. What would you do differently?: Just go faster. Run
Comments: I ran the Tour de Fleurs a few weeks ago in 54:55. I ran the 10K Sunday in 53:55. A PR!! Woo! I was 23rd in my AG. I'm still not fast but I know I can be. I won't be running 30s. I think I can get to 45 some day. Not next year, but soon. What would you do differently?: Nothing really. I didn't leave anything on the run course. I got faster over the course of the 10K and did well with taking water. I finished strong but exhausted. Post race
Warm down: Walked around, cheered folks on, banana, cookies, water. Event comments: Great, great, great race! I wanted to do 2:32+transitions. That's exactly what I did. I swam at my goal pace, biked at my goal pace and ran faster than my goal pace. Tack on transitions and voila! Last race of the year, can't wait to start offseason and get ready for a great 2008!!! I was one of the race's biggest skeptics. I didn't think they could pull it off. I was way, way wrong. It was an AMAZING race. So well run, well put together. Amazing volunteer support, very well put together. Last updated: 2007-06-22 12:00 AM

Wake up - 5:00 a.m.
Standard breakfast - Red Bull, bagel, water.
Parked at Reunion Arena, set up T2, boarded bus and went to the start.
Set up T1, met up with Dad and Brother, hung out.
A note here. I got to my bike and realized my magnet was off center so I set it and spun my wheel and managed to slice the very tip of my thumb off. Hurt like hell and bled like crazy. Thought I had broken it. Luckily the pain wore off and a nice thick band-aid quelled the bleeding.
Warm up jog, 10 minutes, stretching.
