Pre-race routine:

Got up at 4 a.m. to make the drive up there. Made myself two pb & j's to eat ont eh way up there. I did not warm up at all I was to busy watching other people and the waves going off it was really neat. I had never seen an OWS start yet so it was really cool.
Event warmup:

No warm-up
Swim
  • 16m 15s
  • 1000 yards
  • 01m 37s / 100 yards
Comments:

This was neat, previously I did not get a chance to swim in a lake yet so this was my first OWS and sighting was not to hard either. It was a lot of fun and kind of crazy having people on everyside of you haha
What would you do differently?:

Probably actually practice swimming in a lake before I do a meet that involves it
Transition 1
  • 01m 58s
Comments:

I did pretty well here
Bike
  • 36m 32s
  • 14.42 miles
  • 23.68 mile/hr
Comments:

I still need a lot of work on my bike
Transition 2
  • 00m 59s
Run
  • 22m 59s
  • 3.5 miles
  • 06m 34s  min/mile
Comments:

I also talked to a few people whose gps said the run was longer then what they said and others who said the run felt a lot longer and they did not have a gps on
What would you do differently?:

Put socks on, I was looking at my time comming off the bike and I was ahead of schedule so I figured I keep it up and not put sucks on and just go. Yeah I got some huge blisters so that hurt a lot during the race and hindered my run a little bit, but I pushed through it and did the best I could.
Post race
Warm down:

walked around for a little bit

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I need to stay consistant with my training schedule

Event comments:

They could have done better with the food after the race all I ate was the banana. The pb & j was almost rock hard and the pasta salad was kind of nasty. But other then that was a great race.
