Comments:

At the start of the race some girls cut in front of me during the wade.
I told them I am a faster swimmer but they stayed. The beggining was a nightmare. Arms were everywhere, I was hitting the woman in front of me, but I didn't mean to. Then the woman to my left whacked me in the chin to the point where it hit my upper jaw. I am soo glad I didn't have my tongue sticking out or it would have bleed a lot. I was pissed off, so I took that anger and said I am breaking away from these brats. I breathed every other stroke untill I broke away to the first bouy. Went around fine. Freestyled and breathed every breath after half of the next lane, I finally had breathing room. Kept good pace with woman in front of me, didn't hit her feet. When I rounded the bouys I did a quick look and saw that I was near the front of the pack. During the swim I passed two women
during the freestyle and one of them passed me during my breath recovery breast stroke of last 200 yards. We were pretty much tied in the transition and she said good job and I said you too.
What would you do differently?:

Not get hit in the chin

Comments:

O.K. I was expecting flat land, it's a good thing I practiced hills when I visited Washington state. The downhills were Awesome!!!!!!!
I Flew!!!! I had the bike in the highest gear possible and took advantage of them ...no coasting for me, well except for the hill with the turn at the bottom. We shared the road with cars a couple of times and I was sooo nervous that it made me ride faster so I could get away from the car sections. Going uphill was a pain in the thigh. I was working extra hard just to keep up with the person in front of me. But I passed her going down hills. On the second loop One of the turns there was annother person turning and I was going fast and went to the yellow line right away I was looking for the bike that I passed with my head looking back, one of the onlookers yelled Your O.K. to me. It was my first time passing someone else going that fast, both of us were racing each other. We both got off our bikes at pretty much the same time.
What would you do differently?:

I wore a back pack with water but I accidently zipped it shut before the race, going down hill I had to swing it forward to unzipp and place it back on my back so I could grabb the water bottle on the next downhill section, which seemed forever because I was soo thirsty, so that hill was espically hard to climb but when I went down hill I Kept peddaling and drank water!! Yea!

Comments:

I was keeping up with this girl so I didn't drink as much as I should have.
It's a good thing I kept pace with her because I had a huge problem and my mind and body got stuck into what Am I Going To Do!@#$%
I Litterally lost my shorts, The tie string broke and they wouldnt stay up. She said "You have a swim suit on so just Go... Go Run!!!"
I was soo embarresed!!!! Well at least I had a shirt on with my bib number.
At mile one I met up with my Dad who had Pink and stripped walking shorts. So I grabbed them and put them on!! I got two G.U. Packs and a water bottle too. All was good
What would you do differently?:

Not loose my shorts!!! Drink more water. Thank God I had a swimsuit on!

This really cool thing happened.... I was keeping pace with one of the runners, she was really nice and we talked a little. Near the end she said I will see you latter, I thought yea right in my sarcastic mind. She sprinted hard to the finish line, finished and then came back to help me keep a pace, at this point I thought I was going to collapse. So I was Oh soo Happy to see her!!!! At the finish line she went back into the crowd of onlookers. She meet me again and I hugged her She said Do you know Marilyn >>>> ? She is one of the nurses for a doctor that I had worked for. She was her Daughter!!!!!!! Out of 2 thousand and two hundred people there I meet her daughter and I didn't even know it was her, untill she told me. I need to write her a Thank You Card! That was So Awesome!!!!
What would you do differently?:

Run with no pain if that is possible.
This is a note to the race organizers: No Gatorade till mile 3 ?!@ What were you thinking? I can understand this if it were mile three of a half marathon or a full marathon, but we allready swam a half mile and biked 13 miles. I had water with me and kept asking Do you have a sports drink? the reply was sorry No just water. The volunteers were very nice and I thank them for their encouragement and time.
Post race
Warm down:

Stretching and walking, hamstring stretches, self massages and lots of juice that was given away thanks to Flat Earth. I drank 4 of them slowly. I felt a little better afterwards.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

WOW I performed faster than I thought because I took the overall time on the timeclock as my personal time.

Event comments:

Check message in run section.
Otherwise it was a great race because the people were so Awesome and So nice. It was the other racers and the volunteers that made this race very good. The Medal is really nice and the person who gave it to me was very nice. Thank You for the good day!!

Freestyle all but last 200 yards, breaststroke breath recovery before transition. No wetsuit because the water temp was too high but there were swimmers with them on, I left mine in a bag in the transition area.I would have been way too hot with a wet suit on.

Running on roads most of the time except the last mile where it was a paved trail and wooden bridge, it was pretty.
Course: In the run I felt horrible. I had pains in my sides and my shins were hurting a lot. Therefore I really didn't pay too much attention on the views. I was told the run course was beautiful but I kept looking at the pavement in front of me willing myself to keep running.
