I should have trained up for this. I had been swimming one time in preperation for this...just to get an idea of the distance. Open water swimming is a hell of alot different than swimming in a pool. Ocean at that. I learned my lesson.

Mountain bikes are NOT the way to go. I learned another valuable lesson from my first Triathlon.

The only part of this race that I am trained up in. I could have done better than I did.

Even though I didnt have a good showing on this, my first Triathlon....I am HAPPY as Hell to say that I did it!! I also learned alot of valuable lessons. Such as train for the swim and use a road bike or tri bike instead of a mountain bike. They could have had more water stations at the finish line and some medical coverage there as well. I was able to get water and didnt need any medical assistance but I did see others that did. They ran out of water and it took them a while to get some more at the finish line. The main reason they did was spectators were allowed to drink it up as well as the ones competing. Also, I seen a few people who cramped up pretty bad and needed assistance and others competitors had to help them and get medical assistance over to assist. I am still happy as hell to have done it and I will be back again next year for this race and will do alot better.
