Swim
Comments: Wooo what a mess this was for me. So I run into someone I'm faster then in the swim before the race, and they are seeded at #28 and I was 77. Though I think she may of done yards, not meters, I ended up being not at the pace I though. Well infact I wasn't even on the list! So I started at 6:25 time slot, when I signed up for 5:20. I passed up 4 people in the swim by 150m, after that I felt like an ass so I just cruised it in after that. What would you do differently?: Next pool swim I'm not signing up the day before! But I did this race so I could experience a pool swim. Transition 1
Comments: Was a little too cautious getting shoes on the the wet pavement. Can't ask for anything more than 36 seconds. Bike
Comments: I can't say what went wrong, my legs just weren't with me. I have been going VERY well on the bike. Then I come to a race and ride my 2nd slowest pace in a race ever. If I had ridden like I know I could of, I think 2nd/AG was very possible. 1st wasn't due to me just not having good legs on the run either. What would you do differently?: Something leading up to the race went wrong, which the 2-3 weeks before the race were FAR from what I normaly do. Since I went on Vacation for a week right before. :) Transition 2
Comments: Came in on the bike slow, not sure why.. didn't want to fall with the puddles I suppose. What would you do differently?: I'm fairly happy with it, just a few wasted seconds here or there. Run
Comments: A course that fits me well, but like I said my legs just didn't show up to the race. My run has been better then it has ever been before, and I honestly didn't expect anything over 18min or atleast 18:30. 19:25 tossed in with the bad bike, you could say I wasn't thrilled with the race. What would you do differently?: Like the bike, I think the days or couple of weeks leading to the race weren't prime. Besides that I raced how I wanted to, just didn't have the speed. Post race
Warm down: jogged to my car and back to get my USAT card since I wasn't entered in the results. What limited your ability to perform faster: Bad lead up to the race. Event comments: Good Sprint Race. My last sprint, I had the legs to go but I lost several spots over all to poor transition(odd for me). This time I had solid transitions but no legs. Funny how that works. Woke up ate what I could, packed up and headed out at 5:30
Well I figured a warm-up would be pointless, but I did a 200m swim to get use to a 100m lap pool if anything. I was shivering by the time I got into the pool for the race.
