Swim
Comments: Concentrated on pacing myself early, as I tend to tire going out too fast! Overall, happy with my swim... started in firt wave which thinned out quickly - seemed like I was swimming by myself the whole leg. What would you do differently?: more training... only swam 1500m in open water twice prior to race! Transition 1
Comments: Rocked T1... got out of wetsuit quickly - hands were a little shaky putting socks on but was OK. Long run out to the bike mount - shoes clipped into pedals What would you do differently?: ?? Felt great - one of fastest times overall Bike
Comments: CRASHED bike at mile 10 while attempting to add water to aero bottle that was empty.... thankfully my bike and body were OK - nasty deep scratches on shoulder, road rash on right side. I lost ~4-5 minutes. Without crash, averaged 23.5 mph and would have been top 30 overall going into run What would you do differently?: NO CRASHING ON BIKE... Transition 2
Comments: Again, one of fastest T2's overall.... improved from 98th overalll after bike to 64th after T2 Run
Comments: Crash and lack of 10K trainining really caught up.... 8:53 miles 1-3, then hit the wall. Legs were bruised and burning and lungs shot. 4,500 ft elevation may have played a role as well?! Tough, tough, run What would you do differently?: Training - bulk of training was in 3-4 mile range, only ran 5 miles once and never did 6... DOH. Post race
Warm down: Medical attention for scrapes... Event comments: Outside of bike crash - great race... well organized, lots of people cheering on in the village. First Olympic was a good one Last updated: 2007-07-02 12:00 AM

MY FIRST OLYMPIC TRI!
4,500 ft elevation
Parking was tough - had to walk about a mile to the lake! Left me short on time and unable to really get warmed up and stretched out.
