Swim
Comments: USAT screwed up the timing, so I have no idea what my race time was, or ranking, but came in somewhere in the 25-30th out of 65 range based on those who did receive swim splits. What would you do differently?: swim faster, DAMMIT! Transition 1
Comments: Bike mount line was at the bottom of steep hill, but mounted fine, got a slap in the ass by Scott, which meant I beat him out of the water (celebrate the small victories!) and was on my way. Bike
Comments: Raced with Scott's "FeXY" wheels, felt great, not sure it really gave me an advantage, but I looked Fexy....bike was hard, but my heart rate was manageable. What would you do differently?: train harder, as always. Transition 2
Comments: Good T2, but did have some issue with shoes. Gotta get the Yankz switched out! Run
Comments: Hip flexors were screaming. Not sure if it was the ups or the downs, but it sucked. No calf issues though. Thighs were sore afterwards as well. No gatorade on the course, which totally sucked. Sun was shining, but heat wasn't too bad. What would you do differently?: Run more hills! Post race
Warm down: lots of walking. Overall stats: Calories 2280, max HR: 240, min HR: 109, AHR: 165 What limited your ability to perform faster: hills, training. Event comments: USAT did a HORRIBLE job of timing, and the post-race awards ceremony drug on forever, and the post-race dinner was pathetic! The food was good, but not nearly enough (one serving only) and the wine was deplorable! White zin, chablis, and burgundy. They did have good Oregon microbrew, so that was at least one good decision made. Last updated: 2007-07-05 12:00 AM

Taper: no workout Monday, easy bike Tuesday, rest Wednesday, easy bike Thursday, swim Friday. Went to bed at 10pm, horrible night's sleep, woke at 4:30am. Ate normal oatmeal and banana.
none. That's what the swim's for!
