Swim
Comments: Considering how bad I swim this was actually a good swim for me. The buoys were always to the right so I could actually see where I was going the whole time and think I swam somewhat in a straight line. It was a little unnerving when people got close to me but I stayed calm and kind of enjoyed the swim. I kicked my legs more than I usually do (which doesn't take much). What would you do differently?: Again, considering I am a slow swimmer and afraid of open water I feel I did decent for me. Transition 1
Comments: Trish and another volunteer pulled of my wetsuit and saved me a ton of time. I always get my wetsuit stuck on my heals so it was great to have help! What would you do differently?: ? Bike
Comments: Felt strong on the bike. I felt like I was going as fast as I possibly could and passed a ton of women. I only got passed by one person on the bike--a guy at mile 8. What would you do differently?: My water bottle was still frozen and I wish I could've had my water. Transition 2
Comments: I should have been faster...I put my bike in backwards (duh!) and also had to tie my shoes since I didn't have elastic laces in. What would you do differently?: Put in elastic laces correctly. Run
Comments: I would have liked to ran this a little faster (sub 8-minute miles would have been great) but it was a hot run and my legs were tired from the bik. What would you do differently?: Try to run a little bit faster. I felt I pushed myself on the bike but was more comfortable on the run and should've pushed myself more. Post race
Warm down: Hugged my daughter and girlfriends (Trish, Allison, Kiki), got some water b/c I felt like I could puke, then a beer (ahhh...), then a wonderful massage. Finally got some food about two hours later. What limited your ability to perform faster: Genetics. Event comments: The race was awesome and I would do it again. Biggest complaint was having to wait two days for race results so I could write this race report! Last updated: 2007-07-05 12:00 AM
