Swim
Comments: Whoa, horrible swim...I think my wetsuit (borrowed) might have been too tight, too many nerves, not enough OWS and the need for me to be in better shape caused me to lose ALL of my breath by the time I cleared the waves What would you do differently?: Train more! Transition 1
Comments: Included in the bike transition. Was fairly quick, even managed to put on some sunblock and off I go What would you do differently?: Maybe skip the sunblock for a race this quick/overcast, practice transitions a little more Bike
Comments: I did alright on lap 1, lap 2 I got stuck in high gear coming out of the "hole" and it cost me going up that hill. Really not that bad for a bike What would you do differently?: Push it a little more Transition 2
Comments: I did not have clip-in pedals, so T2 was a snap, rack bike, take off helmet and off I went! What would you do differently?: Maybe some gu? Never tried it, it might have helped with the dead legs during the run Run
Comments: I was a bit slow the first 8 minutes and it cost me time, but I think my legs got their first real "wobble" feel even though I had done bricks before. Still, was great to finish! What would you do differently?: Wear sunglasses, sunglasses hide the pain Post race
Warm down: Walk around a lot, drink a ton, get some breakfast at El Torrito What limited your ability to perform faster: Not enough training Event comments: Would love to do it next year and shave 10 minutes off my time. I think it is possible if I can get that swim better Last updated: 2007-07-07 12:00 AM

Wake up, drink some gatorade, have a breakfast bar and head on down there
Walk around, stretch, light swim (not a big warm-up guy). General nerves
