Swim
Comments: This course was much longer than 1/2 mile. Good for me...not for the rest of the racers :) Considering I have not really done much swimming in the last 3 weeks I think this is pretty good. 2nd in wave -I think it was a guy or relay swimmer in front of me... What would you do differently?: not much Transition 1
Comments: Ugh, my transitions sucked today. I could have easily gone sub 1:14 had I had better transitions. First -i couldn't find my bike -though the numbering system was kinda funky -then I realized I was right in front of all of my stuff. While running into transition area I was able to get my wetsuit of to my hips and cap and goggles off which was good. Wetsuit got stuck on ankles though at transition area. Also, need to learn to get the bike shoes clipped in and put on while racing versus putting socks and shoes on before getting on bike. What would you do differently?: see above. Bike
Comments: Bike actually felt pretty good considering I hadly had any time on the bike in the last 4 weeks! What would you do differently?: Need to work on technical stuff -turning and cornering, otherwise other than being in shape I was pretty happy. Transition 2
Comments: Ugh -another crappy transition -First I need to get the hang of getting my shoes off while on the bike -instead I just stopped and basically forgot how to get off the bike -in the process was able to get a cramp in right calf (luckily worked itself out quickly). Then when I went to rack the bike it toppled over so had to re-rack. What would you do differently?: see above Run
Comments: PR on run -OK -I know I'm not fast but this was the first time I have ever gone sub 8 min miles in a race. Breathing and pace felt pretty good the entire time -even felt strong at the end (though two guys sprinted past me). What would you do differently?: not much Post race
Warm down: continued jogging after finish until HR went down What limited your ability to perform faster: CRAPPY TRANSITIONS Event comments: Extremely well run race -great swag too :) Drywick shirts for all competitors. SoBe (sponsor) beach chairs for top three in each AG. Last updated: 2007-07-08 12:00 AM

Register, set up transition area -oops forgot race belt so used my HR monitor instead. Saw a friend from swimming I hadn't seen in about 15 years. Turns out she also had a long QT scare back in her senior yr of college (NCAA would not allow her to continue to compete)
About 100 yards swimming before the start
