Comments:

Ran the race with Aaron Christopherson. We started in the front of the pack and yes this resulted in a way to fast first mile (7:29). This fast start resulted in a slower mid mile race pace for recovery. I was able to recover somewhat but for the last 2 miles. I was hoping to break the 50:00 time with a better than 8:00 mile avg. Came close and it is very do able in the future. I did fella little tired during the race and under prepared.

Improved my time from last year by 2:00 over all place improved from top 43% to 37% I want to get to the top 25%.
What would you do differently?:

More active recovery from the marathon I ran 2 weeks before. I defiantly could tell that I had cut the miles way back with the taper for the marathon, the recovery and short taper for this race I just didn't get the miles in for the past 3 weeks that I need in order to run this race correctly.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around and visited with people that I knew and cheered for them as they crossed the finish line.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I should of had some water/energy drink at both of the aid stations. Run more!!!!

Event comments:

Very good race with lots of post race food.
