Pre-race routine:

Went to the race with my son (Miler) and his friend. Got there about 1 hour before the race. It was quite chilly out with a threat of rain in the air, luckily it didn't materialize. A large rainbow came out about a 1/2 hour before the race, cool.

Stretched out, ran a little bit, and swam about 100 meters.

Comments:

Since there are two transition areas in this race you need to put all of your stuff (wetsuit, goggles, etc) into a plastic bag with your number on it. Takes a little more time.

get my wetsuit off quicker

Comments:

There was an accident about 2-3 miles into the course. About 4 bikes involved. Looked like alot of scrapes & bruises, etc. I believe someones tire got caught in a slot in the road. I believe everyone ended up ok other than all of the scrapes. Definitely made me concentrate more on the road in front of me.
What would you do differently?:

Tough bike into the wind. Tried to keep cadence steady at about 85 and just put it into an easier gear.

Had a had time getting into my pre-ties shoes. Usually this is not a problem, legs were tired after the windy bike
