Swim
Comments: Well i stayed on course better than my previous races....But i accidentially went at the wrong bouy on the last turn. So i probably added about 2-3 minutes because of that. What would you do differently?: Navigate a little better Transition 1
Comments: Took my time to make sure i had everything i needed for the bike. Bike
Comments: Good course with PLENTY of volunteers....All intersections were blocked and well maned. What would you do differently?: not much, i had a good bike leg. Transition 2
Comments: Decent transition, again i took my time and ate a little bit. I even went to the bathroom. Run
Comments: Well i felt good the first 6.6 miles which i ran in 1:07:00. It wasn't fast, but it was a good pace for my first HIM. I was probably running 9min/mile pace with a minute at each aid station. Then I just ran out of endurance. I think my food intake was good and i had energy, but my legs were just at the end of their endurance. So the last about 5 miles there was quite a bit of walking which is why the last 6.6 took me about 1:32:00. It's alright though, it was my first year of tri's so i'm happy to make it to a HIM in my first year. What would you do differently?: Build my base this winter so i can smoke the run in March at Cali 70.3 Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: No enough base and it was really hot!! Event comments: Very well organized with plenty of aid stations and tons of volunteers. Last updated: 2007-07-13 12:00 AM
