Swim
Comments: Horrible swim.... Even for a crappy swimmer like me. No wetsuits...This hurt me. Water was mostly waist deep the whole way. There was a decent current but nothing too fast. When I sighted, I basically stood up and walked a few steps while I got my direction. I never really got in a rythm. If I could have put together a better swim, I probably could have grabbed a top 10 spot. What would you do differently?: I need to work on my swimming speed. My crappy swimming is becomming very frustrating. Transition 1

Comments: Pretty happy with bike. I felt like I faded a little near the end. Probably should have tried to stay in aero position a little more. Got passed by two guys near the end but I stayed with them and smoked them on the run. What would you do differently?: Stay relaxed. Start off a little easier and finish stronger Transition 2

Comments: Just a great run. I may have run the first 1/2 mile a bit too fast. My heart rate was pretty high. I caught a group of 4 runners with 1/2 mile to go...unfortunately I was out-sprinted by 3 of them. All the work I did to catch them left me too weak to sprint at the end. Finished 16th but missed 13th by 3 seconds and and age group podium by 2 seconds. Yuck :( What would you do differently?: Sprint harder at the end. If I would have known I had a podium spot to sprint for....I would have gone harder Post race
Warm down: Nothing. Collected my stuff and left. What limited your ability to perform faster: Didn't really train specifically for a sprint tri and I didn't really taper correctly. This was just for fun. Event comments: Good race overall. Not enough drink stations. Last updated: 2007-07-16 12:00 AM
