Swim
Comments: As I jumped in I got water in the left eye and tried to ignore it. I cold not swim with one eye open so I had to stop at the end of the second lap to let thee water out. I passed two swimmers fairly early so the remainder of the swim was without interference. At he end of the 5th lap I had to let water out of the goggles again. What would you do differently?: Buy new goggles Transition 1
Comments: Felt good running to transition. I had the bags over the shoes so they remained dry despite the down pour. The lenses popped out of my sun glasses and I messed with them for a bit and put them on loose. Ran well with the bike and had a flying jump to get on and all was well. What would you do differently?: I ahve improved all year on the transition. I really need to think through all that needs to happen and try to streamline the process. Bike
Comments: The rain kept me cool. I had to really watch the road and skip large puddles and patches in the asfault. My bike pops in and out of gears on the lower 3 sprockets. I need to tune it up. What would you do differently?: Go Faster Transition 2
Comments: Felt good running with the bike to the rack. Actually started the run felling fairly good. What would you do differently?: Not sure. Again I need to think through the transition to see what is necessary. Run
Comments: This remains my stumbling block this year as I have been concentrating on the bike. Times are average around 30 minutes. With all the rain the run was a mess and muddy. What would you do differently?: My 5K times were in the 24 minutes range. Next year I ma back to the run as my concentration and I need to do more intervals to keep my speed up. As well as distance work. Post race
Warm down: Walked to a somewhat quiet spot and caught my breath. I was more winded than previous races. Tried some Accelerade and after about 30 minutes was able to drink a beer and had some pizza. What limited your ability to perform faster: Speed work on the run. Event comments: My third year for this race and it remains a favorite. I wish the run went further down the road before the U-Turn and stayed off of the park path. With all the rain this year the path was a mess. Last updated: 2007-07-16 12:00 AM

Setup transition. I remembered to bring plastic bags to keep everything dry as this was going to be my 4th tri this year out of 5 that was going to be wet.
Two laps (100m) in the pool.
