Comments: What a disaster! I jumped out ahead of the guy I was paired with and caught one person that started ahead of us at the wall...which destroyed my turn! I took a nice gulp of water and spent the next 25 meters coughing! I ended up passing 4 more people and then hit a bottle-neck at 250! The pile was worse than an OWS! I finished pretty strong and climbed out of the pool next to the ladder because of the line waiting to get up the ladder. What would you do differently?: Over-take the person in front sooner or wait until after the turn. Not having flip-turns really hurt. Transition 1
Comments: T1 was good. Splits not available due to a timing error. Shoes and helmet on and out very quickly! What would you do differently?: Not scream at Olivier! Bike
Comments: Bike time includes T1 and T2 and doesn't indicate overall rank. I felt really good on the bike but couldn't get my heart rate below 160...which is pretty high for me to sustain. Olivier passed me at mile 6.3. I asked what took him so long...he said he had trouble with his helmet. I'm pleased with my time here. What would you do differently?: Not sure I would do anything differently. This was a good time for me. Transition 2
Comments: T2 is included in the run time...I think. Run
Comments: A pretty good run for me. I could have pushed more and finished a little stronger but at least I didn't completely waste myself! Heart rate stayed above 170 most of the run. I could have pushed the last half and burned it at 180...oh well! LOOK AT THAT HILARIOUS PIC! PAM LOOKS LIKE SHE'S LAUGHING AT ME! What would you do differently?: Push harder Post race
Warm down: Cheered on others! What limited your ability to perform faster: Too many Kit-Kat's and bowls of Moose-Tracks ice cream! Event comments: This is an AWESOME race! And it's close to home! Last updated: 2007-07-19 12:00 AM

Had a really good night of sleep. I got up at 4:30 and enjoyed coffee and a little morning alone-time. Got to the race site at 5:20 and got to transition to set up. I started to get nervous as people began piling in! Picked up chip and body marked and visited with as many people as possible!
Started out on the bike for a little spin time. The lane was coned off but as I was coming back to the race site, a car moved into the coned off lane to turn into Hot Spot! Fortunately, my whistling and waving my arms sent them back into the other lane about 15 feet away! My heart rate jumped to 178! I swam a little just before the pre-race meeting.
