Swim
Comments: I started out with the leaders in the swim, but they were just too fast for me. On top of that I could not swim in a straight line to save my life. I did alright otherwise, and enjoyed the swim. Felt slower than it was. What would you do differently?: Work harder on better navigation by getting more open water swims. Also, training slacked off a bit these past few weeks but overall I was happy. Transition 1
Comments: I have not mastered the jumping on bike and getting feet into the shoes which I need to. However, otherwise the transition was pretty good. Wetsuit stuck a little but that will happen. What would you do differently?: Work on transitions a little better. Bike
Comments: I got spanked on the bike. I get out of the water with the leaders, but my bike is just slow. I am a terrible climber and it really hurts my ability to do well. On the flats I did ok and my descending was excellent. What would you do differently?: Become a better climber. If I could climb better and more efficiently it would really help my bike time. I MUST drop my bike to under 1:10 if I really want to step it to the next level. Transition 2
Comments: I ride barefoot, so getting the socks on took a second, but I thought the transition was pretty good overall. What would you do differently?: Not much, happy with it. Run
Comments: Great run. I had one slow mile that I think was about a 9 to 9.5 minute mile, but excellent run. I dropped 6 minutes off my previous best. My training in July really paid off. I am super stoked with this, though there is definite room for improvement. What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
Event comments: I thought they did an excellent job. It was also awesome to have a personal best, but the course was real nice. I will definitely try to do this one again. I AM SUPER STOKED WITH THE 2:34:09!! :) Motivation for next year Last updated: 2007-07-20 12:00 AM

Got up at 3:45. Been eating cereal in the mornings, so I went with that, turned out to be fine, but I think I should have ate something else. Had a bout a half a cup of coffee. Drove to the race, about 45 minutes.
Routine was a little off because of the weather. It was more like a hurry up and wait. When they announced the race was a go, I pretty much got my transition area ready, did a 50-100 yard swim warm up and then off we went.
