Pre-race routine:

Ate Kashi and a Bannana at 4am and left for the race at 5:15am.

Went pretty well. I really need to get out and stay out ahead, Ihate getting kicked and we were all bunched up tight so rounding the bouy was tough.
What would you do differently?:

Practice swimming more. Now that I have a private coach thru the winter, things should improve.

I swore I'd ride the next bike course and I rode this one on the bike 1x and the car 2x so I was very familair with it and it made a HUGE difference. I would have done much better here but I broke my other bike, which is geared for hills and had to take my 9spd. Essentially I destroyed my legs on the last 1.5 mile climb and it really wrecked my legs for the run.

Also the hills and my drinking didn't go well together - I had heartburn and felt like I was going to puke, drank too much....

Get in more hills....

I ruined my legs on the bike - I usually do a 5k about 2-3 minutes faster. I did the best I could, the hills were rough but I had a strong finish.

Not doing bricks and not having my other bike

Great race, very well run and lots of fun. I will for sure do it again next year!
