walked to stretch .5k
est. 50yard swim warm up
Swim
  • 13m 27s
  • 457 meters
  • 02m 56s / 100 meters
Comments:

T1 time included in swim time - est 400 yard run from beach area into transition area.
Foggy
What would you do differently?:

Carry a pair of clear goggles for overcast days like today
start further towards the left of the pack, got caught up in the herd.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

had a hard time getting feet clean enough to get into shoes - took just as long as if I had put socks on and tied my shoes.
What would you do differently?:

foot wash at bike - wear socks
Bike
  • 1h 04m 20s
  • 16.6 miles
  • 15.48 mile/hr
Comments:

Stayed on big ring most of the race except for the last few hills, stayed on target and peddled 90-95%. Had the perfect dismount.
What would you do differently?:

Gel flask as opposed to struggling with packets.
Still need to ride harder on training runs, spend more time on big ring

Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

ran in racked bike, dropped helmet on gear and ran out
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Run
  • 49m
  • 6.44 kms
  • 07m 37s  min/km
Comments:

bottom of shin/top of foot *tight* 100 yards into run. stopped to stretch twice- finally loosened up at the 2 mile mark. Walked the majority of the 1st mile. Felt hot spot on bottom of left foot @ 3 mile mark - pushed through and finished with a strong, gazelle like sprint :)

What would you do differently?:

wear socks and triple check inside of shoes for excessive wear or exposed stitching
Post race
Warm down:

light stretching, hobbled around for a while

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Swim: Poor start, bad positioning choice.
Bike: need more time in the saddle.
Run: Nickel size double-blister on arch of left foot.

Event comments:

good controlled event, plenty of room to grow into a larger race. Unlimited swim, bike, run routes possible.
I'll be doing this next year, hopefully under 2 hrs.
