Run
Comments: I would rather had been swimming but overall it was a nice run. I was very concerned given my foot problems, but given that it was changed to a duathlon, just do it. Foot actually felt great comparred to expectation. I decided to pace myself given that I had a bike and run after the first run What would you do differently?: not much Transition 1
Comments: not bad given how far I was from the T1 exit and the run to teh mount line What would you do differently?: move faster? Bike
Comments: I found it to be enjoyable in the novice group as I can really pass alot of people instead of getting passed by AG superstars. I think it actually helped to have a bunch of targets to pick off What would you do differently?: not much. Transition 2
Comments: this was a terrible transition, one foot out of shoe other in for dismount (not recommended). Pouring about a lb of bblister care in the running What would you do differently?: everything, get feet out of shoes for running dismount, get shoes better prepared Run
Comments: bad calf cramps for first bit and also caught behind a slow person on the trail initially, butt overall not bad, could have used some gu towards the end What would you do differently?: carry my gu jug with me Post race
Warm down: bananarama, light stretching What limited your ability to perform faster: need better run training Event comments: the timing and amount of water wasn't their fault given the rain and the switch to a duathlon, I think tri the Parks do a great job. Last updated: 2007-07-29 12:00 AM

Age Group Rank = 9/37
Oatmeal about 3 hrs before race, Gu 15 minutes before the start of the race
quick swim (not necessary given that the thunderstorms converted the Tri into a duathlon), quick run on the trails, stretching
I decided to move from AG to Novice given the trouble I have had with my foot. No point in getting in everyone else's way.
