Swim
Comments: actually loved the swim - I did MUCH better than I had planned and felt good the whole time!!! I could have done without the green alge and the boat exhause fumes, & I wasn't really happy with the safety/lifeguard situation- they seemed a bit to removed from the swim to actually be effective - but all in all it went well. What would you do differently?: the OWS training that Ali and I did before the race helped a ton, I'd just do MORE. and I won't be so intimidated next time and try to get in the middle of the pack when starting - it was pretty hard to pass everyone Transition 1
Comments: didn't move fast enough - got crap from my husband for chatting it up in T1 - maybe next time I'll be worried about my time? that and I had issue with my bike helmet . . guess I should have tried the HAIR AND HELMET combo before the race, my helmet barely fit and it hurt thought the entire ride What would you do differently?: ah - I was comfortable - wouldn't have changed it for this race - just trying to not get too stressed out and enjoy things. . . maybe next time I'll care more! Bike
Comments: Love this course - nice and technical and makes it easy for me on my mtn bike to have a chance ;0) What would you do differently?: more training on the course! would like a real roadbike . . Transition 2
Comments: this one was quicker - and un-eventful. Run
Comments: wow I am not a runner, and I perform even worse in humidity and it was HOT and HUMID. I walked a lot at the beginning, and on the south side as the air was heavy and stagnant! ick What would you do differently?: train train train and do more BRICKS so that the bike to run transition is less painful Post race
Warm down: hung out with my friends What limited your ability to perform faster: running ... Event comments: for my first TRI, I thought it was well organized, fun and I did better than I had hoped! What more could I ask for . .. Last updated: 2007-07-30 12:00 AM

woke up at 5:30 - had a power aid, coffee, a bananna and a couple of zone bars. Got to the check out by 6:20. Set up in the transition area. . .15 min lated - my tire blew (just sitting there) so my husband ran home to get a new tube, will my buddy Will tried to get rid of the burr on my rim that caused the blowout. Got my tire on with time to spare (but not without some stress - although I tried my hardest to stay calm - first race jitters PLUS a flat tire -AAAAA-0
