Swim
Comments: I just bought a vest option for my Desoto wetsuit. So this is what it is like to pass people? I was in wave 3, and started out strong, and just kept going. I bumped a few people around, sorry, but didn't freak out. I talked to some strong swimmers, and they said the swim was closer to 1/3 of a mile instead of 1/4. I went around the bouy, and caught up to the second wave, and had to work my through people. Never had to deal with that before. I took 5 minutes off last year. What would you do differently?: I wouldn't have flipped on my back on the swim in, but needed to catch my breath after work through groups of 4 or 5. Transition 1
Comments: Sat down and took off my wetsuit at the beach. Large transition area, and my foot is still tender from my last Tri. Took 2 minutes off last year. What would you do differently?: Forgot my bucket of water to wash my feet off. Bike
Comments: The ride started good. I just went out, and it seemed like the only people who were passing me were going 56 miles. About mile 17 or 18 my sides started to hurt, so I started to slow down. I was breathing shallow, so I tried to take more slow deep breaths. Worked a little, but was still hurting into the run. I did take 8 minutes off last years tri. What would you do differently?: Take my frozen water bottle out of my cooler a little earlier. I didn't get a drink until I was in Stacy. Then I drank to much. Transition 2
Comments: Transition went good. I didn't take off my shoes on the bike. With that ground, and my foot, I just wanted to be able to run with worrying about sticks on the ground. What would you do differently?: Nothing. It felt good. Run
Comments: My legs were sore, and I have run once since Minneman. It took a bit to get going as I cut back on my bike, and stopped running with the cut on the bottom of my left foot during the last month. My sides were killing me, and I did take a couple walks, but did Ok. I trimmed off 4 minutes from last year. What would you do differently?: Train more, but injuries happen. Post race
Warm down: Walk around talk to people. Stretch a little, and cheer on people I know. What limited your ability to perform faster: Injury at my last Tri. Event comments: Fun race, just to many people. Limit it to 1000 people. Last updated: 2007-07-31 12:00 AM

Light stretching. The place was nuts. They had 24 waves of about 50 people each, with the first 6 waves HIM. Did some running to see how my foot was after Minneman, remember "DON'T STEP ON SOMETHING SHARP IN THE SWIM".
