Pre-race routine:

This race was bittersweet for me because my normal training/racing partner was injured while we were training for this race and could not compete. He was there to cheer me on though!!

Bagel w/PB, Accelerade, Fruit, Energy Bar and Gel
Event warmup:

We could not go into the water before the race so I spent the time looking at the zebral mussels on all of the rocks in the start area! I am wearing my booties for this one!

Once in the water I swam out 25 yards and back and that was enough for me! A little cold but not bad...

Comments:

Good sighting on out-leg because I followed the rope. In-leg I was was left because I did not follow rope.

Got kicked in the head about 25 yards from shore because I came up on a slow finisher.
What would you do differently?:

Stop swimming like a girl!

Better conserveenergy on swim for bike. Very tired for most f ride- could not get energy level up.

Comments:

I got passed by a guy with a '72' on his leg about halfway through the run. I tried to keep him in my sight the rest of the way. I pushed as hard as I could to sprint past him in the finish chute and later realized that he started 20 minutes after I did!!
What would you do differently?:

Run faster but overall not a 'bad' run...
