Pre-race routine:

Up early at the firehouse, ate PB&J and started drinking water.
Event warmup:

Stretch and take 2 race caps and 1 enduralite before swim. Also did 1 hammer gel before the swim.

Never have been a good swimmer but I have improved since last year! I dropped more than a minute from my time last year.
What would you do differently?:

Need to do a focused swim program this winter as well as take some lessons or tri specific swim clinic

Everything worked out well at the transition! The training for the longer races has really paid off. I really felt great coming out t o the bike.
What would you do differently?:

Move quicker I guess, I jogged from the lake to the transition area and then to the bike mounting area.

Great ride I have improved here as well since last year. On the bad side I got a 2 minute penalty for gear abandanment. They had a new style of bike numbers that used sandwhich ties to attach to the bike frame. When you folded it in half around your frame it only had one hole to run the sandwhich tie through. Long story short it came off on the bike and I didn't pick it up! Lesson learned

Keep on training, Pick up anything that falls off my bike!

Felt great and really strong. Had a great pace going and felt like I was really just getting warme up. Again it was nice to do a shorter distance race and the longer distance training really pays off.

This was a great race for me. I had a goal to finish a race in the double digits which I did! I really felt great and completely different and stronger than last year

Course: Pretty flat course out through the country. Again I felt really goodon the bike! Did some changes with my seat adjustments and I really like it.

Course: Half way around a race horse track the out into the country roads. A couple small hills but nothing hard. Came back into the other half of the horse track to the finish. Race track was really muddy and difficult to run on. Had to run through a deep mud puddle exiting and entering the track.
