Pre-race routine:

Dad woke me up WAY too early, like 6:15 AM. (I normally sleep until like noon every day). I got dressed in my running gear and then laid down on the couch waiting for him to come dawn stairs. We left the house at 6:40 and drove to pick up grandma. We got to the race site at 7:20-7:30 and I got signed up for my race. I didn't really eat anything, just a mini cliff bar at 7:30 and I tried to eat a rasberry jelly at 7:50 but only ate part of it.
Event warmup:

I jogged from the sign up area to the start area, that was about a .75 mile jog. Got in line for the porta john and peed before the race. Then the race was about ready to start.

Comments:

I ran a LONG way, and it was hard.

What kept me going was the 6 year old in front of me that I didn't want to beat me. So I ran as hard as I could. Even so there were several young kids that beat me pretty bad!
What would you do differently?:

Train more.

Got some cookies, and pop and water.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not running.

This was a fun flat race, except one spot.
