Swim
Comments: The water was extremely murky and was impossible to see anything in the water. Also getting out of the mud/clay at the beginning of the race was challenging. What would you do differently?: I had a lot in the tank and should have pushed much harder. Also I was breathing after every stroke because I did not want to get off course or hit anybody on my sides. The water was impossible to see your surroundings. Transition 1
Comments: You have to go up a small hill to the mounting area, I decided to wear my shoes because the grass would not tear up my tri shoes. What would you do differently?: Not much, felt pretty good about T1. Bike
Comments: This is a course that is not set-up for flat out speed. Lots and lots of rolling hills. Very technical as you need to plan what gears to attack each hill and whether to come up out of the saddle. There were only 2 sections that I was able to pound out some good speed. Also the end of the course required a sharp 90 degree turn to the T2 area and I almost completely wiped out as it was downhill and I had build up some very scary speed. I was not alone because after the race I checked that same turn and there were about 20 skid marks there. Better marking for sure next year. What would you do differently?: Brake way before the final turn to T2! Seriously almost went down! This course is better suited to a well set up road bike, not a tri bike. Transition 2
Comments: I made sure to lace my shoes tight this time, my last race I just threw them on and got bad blisters in the first 800 meters. Took a little more time, but made sure my feet were secure. I need to learn how to unstrap while on the bike. What would you do differently?: Maybe invest in some good speed laces. Run
Comments: I was absolutely dying during the first mile and the hill at the beginning almost broke my spirits. Fortunately I got some momentum and was able to pass a lot of folks on the second half. What would you do differently?: Try to work on my endurance training more, and not so many speed workouts. Post race
Warm down: Had a 2 mile warm-down with my friend. Then did some light stretching. What limited your ability to perform faster: Training and knowledge of the course. Event comments: This was a great triathlon and Setup events does a fantastic job. This is a very challenging sprint tri and I felt great about my finish. Last updated: 2007-08-05 12:00 AM

Basically tried to stretch my body out as much as possible. Also ensured that I went to the bathroom before race-time. Tried to scope out how the transition entrance and exits were set-up.
More stretching.
