Pre-race routine:

Woke up @ about 6:15. Had a pb english muffin and a banana. Arrived at site ~ 7:00am to set-up.
Event warmup:

jog a little to warm-up. Had a gu packet 15mins before. yuck.

started at the back of pack and finished that way.
What would you do differently?:

I would have ran more. I think i was the first one to actually swim. In fact i stopped swimming and ran a few times. I should have ran into the water until it was deeper.

t-1 went pretty well. put my shirt on, then socks and shoes. I didn't notice any problems.

Rode pretty good. I didn't push it too hard as I knew I was going to be done in time to meet my overall time. I didn't go anerobic on any of the "hills". Spinned up all of them.
What would you do differently?:

While I was pretty fast vis-a-vis the rest of the field, I could have pushed it a little harder in the middle. Kept a nice comfortable candence the entire race.

Comments:

t2 seemed to fly by. I dismounted at an almost complete stop. No worries, I wasn't going to try a flying dismount. I had my bike shoes and helmet off and running shoes and race belt on pretty quickly. In fact, during the run, I really didn't remember where I put them. When I got back to the my bike after my run, I was glad to see that they were in a reasonable pile
What would you do differently?:

nothing much. I'll have to practice the flying dismount sometime.

I took the run pretty easy, not that I could have ran much harder!
What would you do differently?:

increase the pace the entire run. Should have kicked it up the last mile. I had it in me(i would like to think) but I knew I was going to blow my goal time away.

Warm down:

had a bottle of water, walked around then a few beers.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

my wieght obviously. Only training for six weeks prior.

Event comments:

Was really dissappointed that there were no split times. So I'm taking an educated guess on most of them. I knew my bike time from my computer and overall time. Backed into the rest. Pretty accurate although, I didn't think I ran that fast. I may have becuase I'm pretty sure I was out of t2 at around 55 mins.
