Swim
Comments: I was a bit nervous, I stayed to the right and knew my course. I fell in behind a guy at my speed. I lost him a bit and then stayed right with him. I could really feel how easy it was to draft behind him. I just let him go and site for me. he did a wonderful job, it was the fastest swim time I have ever had. What would you do differently?: At times when I was getting tired and thought about resting, I just focused on my training, stayed long and sleek, relax my breathing, keep my head and body long, easy strokes, and I would catch up with my lead dude. Transition 1
Comments: felt good Bike
Comments: according to Joel Friel, I spaced out the race in 1/4. I relaxed (so i thought) the first 7 miles, and just fueled up. I picked up the next 7 and the next and the last 7. I got passed by only one guy, but i passed many. I thought i would save some leg for the run. What would you do differently?: go a little harder Transition 2
Comments: i was starting to cramp up getting the shoes off What would you do differently?: faster Run
Comments: took a bit to get my legs going. I thought if i took it somewhat easy out of the gates, I would loosen up. Didn't happen. Sucked air for a long time. Tried to relax my breathing. What would you do differently?: train for more running Post race
Warm down: stuck ice in my shirt and pants x 2. and drank as much water i could get my hands on. What limited your ability to perform faster: I had to go to work at 2 pm, Event comments: 200 volunteers, great help out there. I had to leave right away, i would have stayed for food and massage. got up because who can sleep before a race. I tried to eat oatmeal at 0530, 3 hours before the race.
did a short bike ride and wrote my name on the street to encourage me when I knew I would be tired.
