Swim
Comments: Great entry idea that i took from a collegiate athlete. good first 100+meters then poor 300 meters then average last 200meters. At the end I kept breathing gas fumes from the idleing boats. What would you do differently?: draft, pace, naviagate better! Transition 1
Comments: WASTED TIME! need to work on a proper method of socks and shoes or go sockless after making sure my feet are dry. I sat down and did not focus enough...this is could change my position dramtically,if a minute is knocked off and I cadence the bike better I have the ability to move up 5 spots. What would you do differently?: have elastic laces and not wear socks, and add a bucket of water. Bike
Comments: very hot but traffic less ride with some bad road sections What would you do differently?: work on cadence, shifting, bike positioning on climbs, and getting in with a group. Transition 2
Comments: missed the row my bike was on. What would you do differently?: run faster to my rack spot Run
Comments: good start, then began feeling it in my abs around the 1.2 mile marker, felt the lactic acid around half mile. What would you do differently?: need to have a gel or pill to help with lactic acid with some mileage left on the bike. Post race
Warm down: felt decent....3 bottles of water, drank 1 other 2 kept me cool. What limited your ability to perform faster: lack of sleep and feeling in legs at the end. need new running flats but overall I was not mentally there, my focus was more on who passed? what age group? individual/beginner? instead of the minutes and seconds ticket away. Age Group Rank = 11/40
Drank a lot of water for 2 days, carb loaded on pizza, pasta and got protein from tuna and shakes.
Not much time to warmup because of my navigation abilities. I left Duluth, GA at 3:17am and thankfully because of a time change I did not have to speed too fast! I arrived about 45 minutes before the scheduled start at 7:30am which did not happen.
Picked up packed and applied race numbers then loaded my bike in the transition area (2nd row spot 195) then got chip and ink.
Ran: 1mile with sweat shirt.
Stretch: theraband-pecs, legs, shoulders and rotator cuff.
