Swim
Comments: Another average swim for me.., I almost wish I could have done it without the wetsuit- I think maybe I get sort of lazy with it on and just sort of glide along, where as without my form would probaly be alot better and stronger. I think if I could actually swim straight- I could knock 2 minutes off my time. Actually had an OK draft for a while- but quickly found out that he didnt swim much straighter than I did. Seemed like the water was really choppy on the way in. It wasnt sunny out so didnt have any sun glare. What would you do differently?: Swim faster- concentrate on my actualy swimming rather then what is going on around me... Im always looking if the next wave has hit me yet or if Im catching the wave in front of me. Transition 1
Comments: Really not sure what I was doing for so long- evreything went well... it was a long way out though I guess. It was raining a little when I got out of the water so I covered up my socks and running shoes. What would you do differently?: ??? Bike
Comments: It was raining for maybe the first 10 miles of the bike- or at least had wet roads. I am kind of a chicken on wet roads so was happy when it stopped. Really I wasnt expecting hill after hill after hill.... none of them were huge but they just kept coming. I got to a point on the bike where I just didnt feel like doing it anymore... not that it was that tough and my bike time was average for me.... I just didnt have any fire and wasnt having fun. I usually LOVE the bike. I was actually think of a way to crash without really getting hurt- just enough to not finish (what the heck was wrong with me- that is just not "me"). One highlight though was I got 2 compliments on my bike and the second one- the guy rides up to me and kinda looks at me- so I smile. he says "you have a beautiful bike"... I say "well thanks... usually poeple irde up from behind and say I have a beautiful ass :)" He laughed and said he thought that would have been rather bold. Then cruised right on by. My nutrition was pretty much as planned- could have drank a little more water. Was nice seeing my parents and Kaitlyn on the way in... I dont usually have anyone watching me!! What would you do differently?: Ride more hills?? Transition 2
Comments: I dont know- another long transition for me- blame the long run to the run exit. What would you do differently?: Dont know Run
Comments: Well this is where the not THAT bad of a race got horrid. Actually ranout of T2 feeling pretty good- had a great pace right of the bat and even felt strong. Questioned my wanting to quit earlier. I had to pee towards the end of the bike. Tried to go on the bike- but just havent mastered that yet. Ran past the porta pottys out of trnsition- hoping it would just go away on the run. Not- so I stop at about mile 3 where they have one lonely potty on the side of the road- It felt good to go but I think that little break of not moving my legs was not so good. When I started running again my hamstrings got nice and tight- running hurt and was slow. I took some magic while pills and water at the aid stations, some accelgel. Walked all the aid stations and even kept walking- ugh. Finally about mile 6 my legs feel a little better, so I try running alittle faster- and I get bad pains in my stomach- not actually my stomach- I think it was my appendix (hee hee good excuse- huh??) not even a side ache- just weird. Again thinking of quitting- I could get a ride at any aid station. Thinking my parents are going to be wondering what the heck is taking me so long. I told them 2 hours top for the run. Wondering how bad it would hurt to get hit by a car. Some poeple are horseback riding and ask if anyone wants a ride- I was like no- just trample me. I get to mile 10ish and there is a nice hill up into the park. I ran about half of it then I siad OK- Ill walk the hill then run the rest of the way in. Well I tried hard. Oh- and It was hot and humid out there- I almost felt like I had asthma at times! I just dont know why I felt so crappy. This was mt 3rd HIM in 3 months and I did an olympic last weekend- maybe that was just too much for me??? What would you do differently?: I dont know. I have really been working on my running lately too. Post race
Warm down: nothing- went into the COLD shower- had a little to eat- really wasnt hungry (unfortunately:() Realy wasnted to get those Zipps I was hoping to win- but I knew my parents were sick of sitting there. What limited your ability to perform faster: ???? This was the most challenging course I have done. Just not my day:( Event comments: Great race- tons of volunteers- great aid stations. Nice course. Great food. Last updated: 2007-08-12 12:00 AM

I wasnt even going to do a race report- because may race was so pathetic:( but oh well- just wasnt my day I guess.
Drove down with my parents Saturday- the first time they have seen me race too. Went to packet pick up- Saw the water temp was 77- yahoo- wetsuit legal. Checked into hotel, then went to check out the race site. Maybe I should have drove the course- because it was A LOT tougher then I thought it would be.
Well I had not the best transition spot- almost the farthest from the run and bike out- oh well. Did a quick swim for warm up.
