Comments: Probably ran this part too fast. My best one mile had been 8 min and two mile was 17:30. Ran 1st mile in 6:30. What would you do differently?: Pace better. Transition 1
Comments: Trans was good. What would you do differently?: work better with shoe change. Bike
Comments: bike did not go as well as hoped. Could not get comforatable with gears. Average speed was about what I expected but did not realize others would be so much better. Need to increase avg mph by 2 to 3 miles What would you do differently?: Just need more training on bike. Transition 2
Comments: unstrapped shows before end of ride. worked well. legs felt like rubber off the bike and through Trans. I stopped to take a drink and let legs adjust. What would you do differently?: drink more water on bike so I don't need to in trans. Train more running after bike! add different shoe laces for quicker tie. Run
Comments: This run was disappointing. I had hoped to finish in 27 min but just did not have enough left in the tank. More training will help with this. What would you do differently?: Keep training. Running, especially more than a couple of miles is not something I have done much of, except for the past 12 weeks. Better hydration and carb intake. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Did not take in much of my gator aid or gel on bike ride. Stomach felt upset. Event comments: This was my first race. I had trained for 12 weeks and met my goals which were to not finish last in my age group or in the first times. I was 5 out of 7 in age group and won first times (only one other person).
