Swim
Comments: Made it to the first turn pretty well then took a scenic route to the next corner adding what i would guess to be another 50m or so. The way back was also a bit scenic but less so bc of the "seaweed." My time this year is 10 minutes faster than last year when I backstroked almost the whole thing. What would you do differently?: Swim straight. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: Maybe not strong winds, but strong enough that at one point going uphill into the wind I looked down and saw 9mph. Single digit speeds are depressing. (Another argument for the metric system) I tried to keep around what my LT was last time I tested hoping I didn't lose that much fitness from such a lack of training, but that wasn't the case. I went a little too hard on the first lap then backed off for the second. What would you do differently?: pace better Transition 2
Comments: Didn't rush myself. I originally racked my bike on the wrong rack then realized none of my stuff was there, but on the next rack. Run
Comments: This was my fastest triathlon 5K ever. Despite going harder than I would have liked on the bike, I felt really fresh on the run. One of the aid stations had ice water. Drinking water with ice in it while running isn't easy, and hopefully that won't happen next year. What would you do differently?: nothing, I am pleased with this run Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training. Event comments: Transitions MUCH MUCH MUCH better than last year. I thought this was a well done race. Last updated: 2007-08-19 12:00 AM

Walked around talking to people. I hate using energy before a race.
