Pre-race routine:

Drove up the night before and stayed in a motel. We went out to the race site and drove the course that night. That helped the jitters. Got to the race and set up my trans area with time to spare.

Comments:

I know everyone says"swim as much open water as you can" that didnt help. Its hard to train for race style open water swimming I found out. Maybe it should be" swim as much open as you can and have someone with a boat drive around you while you train".

Get a clean lane and go faster.

my bike sucks for racing. I am glad I raced it though. I now have a clear understanding of why tri bikes are best.

Legs felt like iron. Had to walk too much.

Brick more. Get a better bike,so I might have better legs for the run.

Still too heavy, have to loss more weight.
Train harder, now that I know what its like to race a Tri.
