Swim
Comments: I was a little worried about the group that I started with. They were all faster than me in the water. I even got passed! It all worked out because I wouldn't have pushed that hard if I was with a slower group. What would you do differently?: Not much, I can't wait to do more interval work! Transition 1
Comments: I'm going to practice my T1 for next season. I need to be able to jump on the bike and get moving quicker. This also included about a 1/4 mile run up to the transition zone. What would you do differently?: Step on pedal and throw leg over. Then ride like hell! Bike
Comments: I had Kylie Ramsey in front of me and she made a pretty good rabbit to chase. I ended up passing her but I could tell she was still back there somewhere. What would you do differently?: More intervals and strength work to get my speed up. Transition 2
Comments: This was fast but I had some folks in transition that were a little distracting. I did pretty well to ignore them and went about my business. What would you do differently?: Not much. Run
Comments: I definately could not have gone any harder. Leg strength was my limiter on this and I need to get to the gym once a week during the season to maintain my strengths. This is a PR in a tri! What would you do differently?: I intend to start hitting the gym in a couple of weeks to start building my strength back. Post race
Warm down: I walked over to the massage tent and got a massage. What limited your ability to perform faster: Leg strength and the limited speed work over the course of the season. Event comments: This is a really good race as far a pool swim is concerned. It was organized but the post race activities could have been a little better. The timing company, although accurate, seemed a little slow to post times. They at least had them up the next day so all in all it was a really good race! Last updated: 2007-08-25 12:00 AM

With a lot of protests from my wife, we got to the race site at 5:30am. This paid off because I got the transition spot right in front of the bike out/in.
I tried something a little different this time. I brought my road bike with me and set it up on the trainer in the parking lot. I've tried running in all my other races but this seemed to work out better than any other race. I also swam a little prior to my start. This was the best I've felt before the start of a race.
