Swim
Comments: Didn't have a great swim...I felt sluggish and had a lot of trouble sighting. Foggy goggles and just kept veering off course. Kept thinking I wish I had had a chance to swim it prior to the race. I was disoriented and just slow. Transition 1
Comments: I was fastest in my AG in both transitions. For once. I even forgot my yankz for my running shoes and still was fast. go figure. Bike
Comments: Big fun ride. The first 10 minutes or so my heart rate felt wacked. I was a bit worried. I think it was going from the swim, running up a grassy hill, a fast transition then hopping on the bike and hitting some hills. Once it settled, I felt pretty good, but didn't push it. Also was wishing I had my Quintana Roo, as I could have really soared on the hills!! Transition 2
Run
Comments: my belly was a limiter for me. my legs felt great, heart rate great, but every time I tried to push it my stomach let me know I had better slow down or there would be severe consequences. I blame all the travel, wacky food, odd sleeping hours and consumption of adult beverages on our trip. Post race
Warm down: stretched, had my recovery drink, loaded the car, and drove home in time to get a shower and head out to see my husband and son race BMX. What limited your ability to perform faster: Being on the road and not disciplined enough to avoid the no-no's! Event comments: nice course, nice race. short report :) I was 7/18 in women, so there were a lot more men in this race of 90 participants! Last updated: 2007-08-26 12:00 AM
